Tokyo, Texas and County Cork - oh my!

It’s looking like a busy summer for Fugetsu-Do! Today Fastnet Film Festival kicks off in Schull, Ireland with help from their patron Saoirse Ronan. Fastnet is an independent festival dedicated to bringing together established and first-time filmmakers in a forum to celebrate the short film, committed to the craft of filmmaking and to encourage an exchange of ideas, aspirations and expertise among established filmmakers, young filmmakers and those who may never have picked up a camera before.

UPDATE: Fugetsu-Do was nominated for the Tony Barry Prize for Best Documentary!

After Ireland, we go to Japan for the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival, bringing true independent film from emerging artists around the globe, connecting the UK and international markets. Their aim to maximise artists’ connection with audience, and provide an experimental platform for indie creatives to help nurture voices and launch careers. Fugetsu-Do will be screening on-demand for the month of June!

Next - it’s onto Texas for both the Austin Asian American Film Festival (June 4-20) and the Houston Asian American Pacific Islander Film Festival (June 3-13), aptly nicknamed HAAPI Fest. Fugetsu-Do will be screening virtually in both cities and Kaia will be tuning in for some live Q&As so don’t miss it!
