Fugetsu-Do

DIRECTED, EDITED & PRODUCED BY KAIA ROSE

Directed and produced by Kaia Rose, FUGETSU-DO is a short documentary filmed on location in Little Tokyo and at the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center in Wyoming that features Brian Kito, owner of the Fugetsu-Do sweet shop. Shot on a RED camera with cinematography by Eric Mann, the film was edited by Kaia Rose, colored by Michele Zarbafian, composited by Dominic Pitt, with sound design and mixing by Jasmin Klinger. Big thanks to our fiscal sponsor Craft Film Society and the Japanese American National Museum, whose archive collection was invaluable.

Climate Countdown is an award-winning documentary web-series that maps out the ecology of climate solutions.  With 15 episodes in season 1 and 18 film festivals under our belt, we are currently in production on season 2 and episodes from both seasons are being shown in film festivals around the world.

Without a Mirror is the story of a blind woman learning to dance ballet in Little Rock, Arkansas.  It is currently being screened in festivals around the world.


Just Go

Just Go is a feature-length documentary about four guys who road trip 6,000 miles across the country in a beat up 80's hatchback, surviving on less money than the average American spends on food per week.  It is in post-production.


Kingsmeadow

ASSISTANT EDITOR:  KAIA ROSE, edited & directed by adam tyler

Directed by BAFTA-winning director Adam Tyler, this short doc is a love letter to his local football club in the south west of London.  As production manager, I organized the shoot on location in London and acted as assistant editor throughout post-production.  The film was picked up for broadcast by Channel 4 in the UK.
